The House of Salmon

Very close to the Cathedral, on the "Place de la Poissonnerie", is built one of the most beautiful Chartres houses.

Natural Sciences and Prehistoric Museum

Zoology collections (more than 200 specimens), botanic, local geology, mineralogy, palaeontology, local prehistory and entomology.

Fine Arts Museum.

Located in the ancient Bishop’s Palace, the Fine Arts Museum exhibits all year round rich ancient and modern art collections.

Conservatory of Agriculture: the « COMPA » : Conservatoire du Machinisme et des Pratiques Agricoles

In a locomotive’s rotunda (1905), the « Compa » is the first French museum devoted to agriculture that mixes history, society, sciences, techniques and arts. On 3000 m2, an important collection of tools and agriculture machinery from 1800 to 1950.

The History Attic

A trip through history, from King Saint-Louis to present days, with the help of some reconstitution scenes with civil and military mannequins, documents, weapons and authentic objects.

Villebon Castle

An important fortress from the XIVth century, bathed by water ditches, surrounded by a beautiful park.

Illuminated Chartres

From May to September, monuments and buildings in the city of Chartres are floodlit. To discover them, a route is set up throughout the city from night fall. The event is completed by an illuminated party at the end of the month of September.
